Anybill raises 1.9 million euros

The start-up Anybill is driving the digital receipt forward. Now it has convinced investors.
Anybill has raised 1.9 million euros. The seed investor High-Tech Gründerfonds, the fintech investment arm of private equity firm Ilavska Vuillermoz Capital (IVC) and Payone founders Jan Kanieß and Carl Frederic Zitscher are involved in the financing round. Anybill intends to use the money primarily to enable the acceptance infrastructure of the company's system and the further development of its product.
Lea Frank, co-founder and CEO, says: "With the support in terms of know-how and the right network gained from the financing round, we are a decisive step closer to our goal of becoming an enabler for the issuing, acceptance and processing of digital purchase receipts." The co-founders are Tobias Gubo and Patrick Göttler.
What makes Anybill particularly interesting is the obligation to issue receipts that came into force in 2020. This stipulates that a receipt must be issued for every transaction. The regulation also stipulates that receipts can also be issued digitally. This is exactly what Anybill offers - and is working towards the goal of providing a digital receipt for every payment. According to the start-up, this should be possible at practically any business location in the future: in retailer apps, banking and payment apps or even without an application.
Anybill will be integrated into cash registers. In recent months, the Regensburg-based start-up has already acquired more than 35 point-of-sale partners. In addition to integrations into checkout software, the company has also won several small and medium-sized enterprises and banks. Founded in 2019, the company currently employs around 25 people in Regensburg and Munich. The team is set to expand in the future.
