Arnd Schwierholz is the new CFO at N26

Following the departure of Jan Kemper, the smartphone bank is closing the management gap. Schwierholz brings experience from his time as CFO at Flixbus and Air Berlin.
The smartphone bank N26 is strengthening its management team: Arnd Schwierholz will start as CFO of the Berlin-based company on February 1st. He is moving from the venture capital company Iconical, which specializes in investments in technology start-ups. Schwierholz was a partner and CFO there.
The rest of the 52-year-old's CV also shows him to be a financial expert: Schwierholz was an investment banker at the major Swiss bank UBS, Head of Finance at Lufthansa subsidiary Sky Chefs and at Air Berlin. In 2016, he moved to Flix (formerly Flixmobility), the parent company of Flixbus and Flixtrain, where he was responsible for the finance department until 2021.
The previous CFO and COO Jan Kemper only left the company in mid-December. He had only worked at N26 since 2021. Co-CEO Maximilian Tayenthal took over the role of COO from Kemper, and now Neobank also has a new CFO.
A new Head of Germany has also joined the management team. Daniel Lappas is now responsible for business in the DACH region. He is moving to Neobank from the career network Linkedin. This position had been vacant for some time - N26 had been looking for a successor to Georg Hauer since September 2021.
