Munich - ARX has received 1.15 million euros from Project A Ventures in a pre-seed financing round. ARX specializes in the development of autonomous unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) that have both military and civilian applications.
ARX's robots, known as part of the GEREON series, have a modular design and offer a wide range of possible applications. In the military sector, they serve as realistic targets for shooting exercises and can simulate deceptive operational scenarios. Their ability to imitate the sound of gunfire and generate artificial fog is impressive.
Autonomous robots will revolutionize efficiency, safety and operational readiness in civilian and military applications. With ARX, we offer a dual-use robotic platform that is cost-efficient, can perform multiple tasks in parallel and save lives at the same time.
Marc Wietfeld, CEO and Co-Founder ARX
However, the possible applications of ARX robots are not limited to the military. They can also be used for civilian purposes, for example for patrol services or as early warning systems on merchant ships. In disaster areas, they support first responders by establishing mobile internet connections in rough terrain.
ARX is backed by two founders with different backgrounds. Marc Wietfeld, CEO of the company, is an active officer in the German Armed Forces and developed the idea for ARX from his military experience. Stefan Röbel, COO of ARX, brings experience from leading positions in digital companies such as Grover, Asos and Amazon.
Tests by the German Armed Forces
The investment of 1.15 million euros, led by Project A Ventures, is intended to support ARX in further developing its technology and expanding the team. ARX robots are already being tested by defense companies and the armed forces of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Estonia.
ARX has the potential to play a major role in the development of autonomous ground robots that can tackle both military and civilian challenges. The company's modular platform allows for versatile customization, which opens up a wide range of possible applications. It remains to be seen how ARX will use its technology in the future to increase efficiency and safety in different scenarios.
