Atheneum receives 150 million dollars

The start-up intends to use the money to expand its "Research as a Service" platform for virtual surveys and interviews.

Atheneum has set itself the goal of providing its customers with industry experts in particular and operates a platform for this purpose. The start-up has now announced that it has completed a financing round in order to continue its growth. The round is worth 150 million US dollars. The money comes from the US VC Guidepost Growth Equity and existing investors such as Crosslantic Capital, Vogel Communications Group and serial founder Michael Brehm, among others.

Specifically, founder and CEO Mathias Wengeler wants to use the money to hire new employees and expand into new markets. "We want to further develop the global platform and focus on expanding the technology and new products," the founder told Handelsblatt.

Atheneum currently offers its service in 40 countries. The company has around 500 large corporate customers, according to Techcrunch . Customers come from the life sciences, strategy consulting, investment services, telecommunications, media and technology sectors, among others. Atheneum's network includes 680,000 experts. In addition to its headquarters in Berlin, the start-up also has a location in New York.
