Autoretouch goes to French unicorn

The Stuttgart-based start-up has a new owner: French digital photo service provider Meero is taking over Autoretouch. The purchase price is unknown.
Alexander Ciorapciu and his team founded Autoretouch in 2019 and are now moving to France. Since January 1, the start-up has been part of the French start-up Meero, which offers photography services worldwide.
Autoretouch emerged in 2019 as a spin-off from the fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger. The start-up developed an AI-based technology for automated image processing of product photos. This should make it possible to retouch a large number of images automatically and quickly. The start-up now employs 17 people.
"Our new environment is completely focused on services related to the creation and editing of digital images. We are looking forward to the new impulses and application possibilities that await us," says Alexander Ciorapciu, CEO of Autoretouch.
Holger Blecker, CEO of Breuninger, also welcomes the acquisition by Meero. "We are delighted that Autoretouch has developed into a company of considerable relevance in such a short space of time. As a founding investor, it was important to us to set the course for independent further development at an early stage," says Blecker.
