Support network for legaltechs in Bavaria launches

The Bavarian Ministry of Justice and UnternehmerTum are opening the Legal Tech Colab today.

The start-up cluster UnternehmerTum and the Bavarian Ministry of Justice want to provide targeted support for start-ups that focus on legal tech. The Legal Tech Colab, which opened today, is intended to support founders in the development of prototypes, market entry and scaling. The Bavarian Ministry of Justice is funding the initiative with up to one million euros per year. Tum Venture Labs, an initiative for marketable applications in cutting-edge research, is also supporting the development of the Legal Tech Colab.

"We want to take advantage of the opportunities offered by digitalization and become a leading legal tech hub," says Bavaria's Minister of Justice Georg Eisenreich. "That's why I'm delighted that we can give the go-ahead for our Legal Tech Colab together with UnternehmerTum." The organizers promise those who take part in the program access to a legal tech computing platform, data storage, grants of 1,000 euros per month, jobs at the Munich Urban Colab start-up center and access to global networks of companies and investors.

"Legal tech has been difficult terrain for founders to date," says Philipp Gerbert, Managing Director of Tum Venture Labs. "We would like to invite law firms, legal departments of companies and authorities as well as start-ups and tech enthusiasts to join us and benefit from the exchange in the ecosystem."
