Berlin Organics receives six-figure sum

This is the first major financing round for the producer of superfood powder, which was founded in 2015. In future, Berlin Organics also wants to offer more healthy snacks.

Founder Klaas Koolman wants to take the next step with Berlin Organics: Marketing and sales are to be expanded and he also wants to extend the product range. He has now secured fresh outside funding for his plans. According to the start-up, the investors in the seed financing round include several business angels and entrepreneurs from the food sector as well as investors from the media industry and a Berlin advertising agency.

The lead investor in the round is Matthias Helfrich, who has already invested in more than a dozen start-ups with his investment company MGH. Berlin Organics is also open to other investors in a second closing until March 31. Founder Klaas Koolman did not want to disclose the exact amount of the reported six-figure sum when asked by Startbase.

Berlin Organics was founded in 2015 and specializes in the development, production and distribution of plant-based organic foods with a high nutrient density and fitness nutrition. According to the company, it processes 100% organic raw materials and the products are manufactured exclusively in Germany.
