Gorillas allegedly in talks with competitors about sale

The talks with Gopuff and Jokr are apparently about a merger or sale.
Mass layoffs of employees and the withdrawal from Spain - there are many indications that the pressure on the Gorillas delivery service is increasing. According to the news portal Bloomberg , Gorillas is even said to have held exploratory talks with various competitors. The delivery service is said to have negotiated a possible deal with rivals Gopuff and Jokr, among others. Gorillas would work with JP Morgan to examine possible options for the company.
The talks were non-binding, so it is possible that no transaction will take place. Nevertheless, the talks illustrate the challenges that start-ups are currently facing. The problem is particularly acute for express delivery services. Although they have won many customers with the promise of delivering food quickly, they have also had to spend a lot of money in a short space of time. Gorillas spends up to 80 million US dollars a month, said two people familiar with the company's finances who did not want to be named.
Representatives of Gorillas, Jokr, JP Morgan and Gopuff declined to comment on the possible exploratory talks.
