Berlin, October 16, 2023: The start-up ImpactNexus.io receives €1 million in funding from the European Union and Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB). The company offers digital solutions for efficient sustainability management and aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their sustainability transformation.

In an increasingly demanding environment where regulators, investors, customers and employees are increasingly demanding sustainability measures, SMEs are facing challenges. They often lack the qualified resources and expertise to meet these requirements. This is where ImpactNexus comes in by offering digital solutions to help SMEs accelerate their sustainability initiatives.

Our digital solutions enable SMEs to assess the impact of their activities on the environment and society, report efficiently to various stakeholders and optimize their sustainability performance at the same time

Alexander Schabel, CEO of ImpactNexus.

ImpactNexus' software uses artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) to extract insights from research articles, reports and news. With this data, ImpactNexus prioritizes specific sustainability topics for companies and offers strategic recommendations for efficient sustainability transformation. The company records the impact of corporate activities on the environment and society as well as key risks and opportunities for business success.

Funding from IBB and ERDF

The sustainability management software from ImpactNexus also helps companies to meet the mandatory reporting requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This is an EU directive on corporate sustainability reporting based on the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

The funding comes from the ProFIT program of Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB), which supports technological innovation projects and is financed by the European Regional Development Fund 2021-2027 (ERDF).
