Jasper Masemann leaves HV Capital

The experienced investor was a partner at the international venture capital firm for seven years.
After seven years as a partner at HV Capital, Jasper Masemann has now announced that he will be leaving the venture capital firm. He wrote on the career portal Linkedin that he intends to start a new chapter in venture capital in 2023.
Among other things, Masemann was responsible for setting up the Berlin office and a B2B software team. He also oversaw the fund's first investments in Israel, Spain and some Nordic countries. He focused primarily on start-ups in the fields of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI).
In addition to his involvement with HV Capital, Masemann has been a member of the supervisory board of the Israeli AI start-up Verbit since 2018. He also holds other positions at start-ups such as Ultimate from Helsinki and Sastrify from Cologne.
In his Linkedin post, he thanked his colleagues at HV Capital and announced that he now wanted to hand over his portfolio. He is now aiming to remain in the industry in a "smaller set-up" from 2023.
HV Capital has already invested in around 225 companies. These include Zalando, Delivery Hero, Flixmobility, Depop and Sumup. The company supports start-ups with capital of between 500,000 and 50 million euros.
