Laura Kauther becomes commercial director at Element

Kauther has already worked for the Zurich Group and brings with her expertise in the insurance sector. She is to drive the expansion forward.

After Element brought ex-Axa board member Astrid Stange on board in July, the insurtech is expanding its team once again: Laura Kauther is now Commercial Director at the young insurance company and will develop and expand selected markets in this position.

Kauther was most recently Chief Commercial Officer at SDA SE Open Industry Solutions, a platform and ecosystem developer. There she was responsible for business development, marketing, sales and customer success management. Prior to that, she held a management position at digital insurer Coya, which was acquired by French provider Luko at the beginning of this year. She began her career at the Zurich Group, where she held various positions for almost ten years. "With Laura Kauther, we have gained another insurance expert for ELEMENT," says Michael Bongartz, Chief Commercial Officer at Element. "Her diverse experience in digital transformation, platform technologies and embedded insurance is a great asset."

Element enables companies to offer their own property and casualty insurance. They can use the insurtech's insurance license to do so. In July, the start-up raised 21.4 million euros in a Series B financing round. The investors include Versorgungswerk Zahnärztekammer Berlin, Alma Mundi, the Witan Group and Ilavska Vuillermoz Capital.
