The former CEO of N26 will now support the start-up in becoming a regulated securities institution.

Berlin-based fintech Lemon Markets is expanding its management team with Markus Gunter as its new CEO. With his regulatory experience, he will support the company on its way to becoming a regulated securities institution.

Gunter has worked in the fintech industry for decades. He was Managing Director at Activest and Pioneer Investments, where he helped shape the asset management industry. As CEO of Direktanlagebank AG and N26, he was involved in the development and scaling of direct brokerage and mobile banking businesses.

Gunter is looking forward to building a new infrastructure with Lemon Markets that will give fintechs seamless access to capital markets. "We are accelerating the development of innovative products that enable private customers to take their financial future into their own hands," says Gunter.

Marcel Katenhusen and Maximilian Linden founded Lemon Markets in 2020 to develop an API platform that enables fintechs to offer investment and investment functions for private investors. Investors to date include Lakestar and Creandum.
