Monika Steger joins the management board of Bayern Kapital

Together with Georg Ried, she forms the dual leadership of the GmbH.

Monika Steger becomes Managing Director of Bayern Kapital GmbH. She will take over the role from Roman Huber from April 2022. He is leaving the investment company from Landshut at the end of March for reasons of age. Together with Georg Ried, who has been a member of the company's management since 2013, she will form the dual leadership of Bayern Kapital. Steger has held management positions at Bayern Kapital since 2003. She has been an authorized signatory since 2010 and a deputy member of the management board since 2012.

"Monika Steger and Dr. Georg Ried are two experienced fund managers and complement each other perfectly as dual leadership," says Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger. "They have been deeply rooted in the company for many years. This is a good and important signal for the employees and business partners of Bayern Kapital."

The Bavarian state government founded Bayern Kapital GmbH in 1995 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of LfA Förderbank Bayern. Bayern Kapital manages investment funds with a total volume of around 700 million euros. The GmbH has already invested over 350 million euros in equity capital in around 300 companies from a wide range of sectors. These include life sciences, software and IT, materials and new materials, nanotechnology and environmental technology.
