Qunomedical acquires a stake in Medical One

Qunomedical and the Dutch clinic group Bergman Clinics take over Medical One. The parties are not disclosing the amount.

In May 2020, the start-up Medical One filed for insolvency, followed by its parent company Medidate in June. At least Medical One can now breathe a sigh of relief: Qunomedical, a platform for arranging doctor appointments, is taking over the start-up together with the Dutch clinic group Bergman Clinics.

Qunomedical will take over the digital management of patients, while the clinic group Bergman Clinics will take care of clinical operations in future. The sales price is not known.

Patients can use the Qunomedical platform to search for doctors in Germany and abroad. The start-up advertises that the greater choice should enable customers to save costs or receive better treatment. "Our goal is to offer all patients the best possible medical care worldwide," says Sophie Chung, who founded Qunomedical in 2015. "The acquisition of Medical One is an important step in further strengthening our position in Germany," Chung continues.

The Medical One clinic group offers plastic surgery treatments at twelve locations in Germany. The takeover by Bergmann Clinics is in line with the company's expansion strategy, which has been acquiring other companies in Scandinavia for some time and also in Germany since last year. "The German market is strategically very important for us," says Martijn Hartman, CFO of Bergman Germany.
