Saxony supports Senorics with two million euros

The Dresden start-up Senorics receives money from the Free State of Saxony for the development of special sensors.
On Monday, Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs Martin Dulig (SPD) presented Senorics with the funding decision from the Sächsische Aufbaubank. The start-up will receive two million euros in support for the development of innovative photonic sensors for material analysis.
The money will be used to set up a pilot plant in Dresden. Senorics is researching sensors that can measure the sugar content in fruit or the moisture in paper, for example. Until now, such analyses have had to be carried out in laboratories. The small and inexpensive sensors can make such tests more suitable for everyday use. "Senorics is an excellent example of the innovative strength of Saxony as a business location," said Dulig in a statement. "I am proud that we are able to support another spin-off from the Technische Universität Dresden on its way to industrial production." Senorics was founded in 2017 and employs 40 people.
The Free State of Saxony has been supporting start-ups in the "Key Enabling Technologies" category for four years. Almost 50 million euros have been raised so far.
