Swedish investment company acquires i-Solutions and Meona

Both support hospitals in the digitalization of their processes; following the takeover, the investment company Trill Impact intends to merge the two start-ups.

The Swedish private equity company Trill Impact is entering the German market and acquiring both the clinical software company Meona and i-Solutions, a provider for practice management and billing. The aim is apparently to merge the two companies. The sums involved are not known; the takeovers and the merger still have to be approved by the German Federal Cartel Office.

"In Trill Impact, we have jointly found an investor who shares our vision. Now we want to combine our innovative strength with the experience and product breadth of i-SOLUTIONS," says CEO Tobias Schäfer of Meona. He founded the Freiburg-based company together with Matthias Wuttke in 2008. In 2017, it merged with the software provider E.care to form the Meona Group, and in 2019 Dr. Heni Software GmbH & Co. KG was added. The Meona Group's software is explicitly developed for the digitalization of processes in clinics. Trill Impact is acquiring the majority of shares from the investment company Emeram Capital Partners, which was also responsible for the mergers.

The managing directors of i-Solutions are also pleased about the merger: "Together, the products of Meona, E.care and i-SOLUTIONS cover almost all of the funding requirements of the Hospital Future Act. Our customers now receive the entire range of leading solutions from a single source," Joachim Schweizer and Wolrad Rube are quoted as saying. The Hospital Future Act passed in 2020 contains an investment program of three billion euros for the promotion of hospitals, with the money explicitly intended to expand the digital infrastructure.
