Start-up for security software raises 2.5 million euros

Tenzir closes a seed financing round of 2.5 million euros and plans to expand into the USA. It is also strengthening its management team.

Tenzir has developed security software for companies and is now raising 2.5 million euros with this concept. The money comes from cybersecurity investor Ecapital and will primarily be used to enter the North American market.

At the same time, the start-up is gaining a new addition to its management team: Mark Mastrangeli will take on the role of Chief Product and Revenue Officer and closely oversee the expansion into the US market. Mastrangeli previously worked at Intel, McAfee and built up the Open Cybersecurity Alliance (OCA) with IBM.

"As we deploy our technology in the most complex environments, Mark's experience will be instrumental in shaping an ecosystem of modular security solutions," says Tenzir founder Matthias Vallentin. The start-up offers the possibility of automatically detecting and investigating cyber attacks. This can be used to support cybersecurity teams in companies.

The investors are also convinced by Tenzir: "Security teams today are struggling with dozens of different tools that keep data in silos and hardly work together. The security infrastructure needs to be rethought," says Dirk Seewald, Partner at Ecapital.
