The start-up known from "Die Höhle der Löwen" raises capital in a Series B financing round.

As the company Waterdrop announced, it received 60 million euros in capital in a Series B financing round. The lead investor in the round was Temasek, a sovereign wealth fund from Singapore. The existing investors Founders Future and Bitburger Ventures also invested again.

Founder and CEO Martin Murray intends to use the capital to "make the company the world's number one drinking water brand". The founder is delighted about the entry of global investor Temasek and sees this as an important milestone for his young company.

Christoph Hermann, Henry Murray and Martin Murray founded the start-up in 2016. They gained notoriety in 2018 with an appearance on "Die Höhle der Löwen". The company now employs 200 people. Waterdrop sells so-called microdrinks - sugar-free tabs that customers dissolve in water and add flavor.

Customers can choose between different flavors. The start-up aims to motivate people to drink more water and save plastic. Waterdrop claims to save up to 98% CO2 and plastic compared to conventional drinks in plastic bottles.
