Wiwin develops sustainable evaluation system for crowdinvesting projects

The Mainz-based company wants to enable investors to make more informed investment decisions.

The Mainz-based investment platform Wiwin has developed a rating system that enables investors to clearly recognize how sustainable a potential investment is. Wiwin was supported in this by scientist Julia Hartmann. She is Professor of Management and Sustainability at EBS University of Business and Law and has been a member of the Wiwin Advisory Board since 2021.

The "Wiwin Impact Scoring" is made up of three different project categories: Renewable Energy, Sustainable Real Estate and Green Start-ups. Six evaluation dimensions are defined for each of these categories, for example project type, contribution to the energy transition, involvement, company purpose and product in the case of renewable energies. "The six scores of the evaluation dimensions then result in an aggregated overall score for each project, which is presented on a scale from 0 to 100," explains Carlotta Claußen, Business Development & Impact Manager at Wiwin.

"Unfortunately, most investment products labeled as green are nothing more than deceptive packaging," says Wiwin founder Matthias Willenbacher. "We are now taking an important step in the crowdinvesting sector and ensuring greater transparency." His company, founded in 2016, is thus taking on a pioneering role.
