Wiwin appoints René Theis as second Managing Director

In his new position, Theis will be responsible for Finance, Operations, IT and HR.

René Theis becomes the second Managing Director of the Wiwin crowdinvesting platform. Since January 1, he has been managing the company together with Wiwin founder and Managing Director Matthias Willenbacher.

Prior to his current position, Theis was Head of Overall Bank Management at PSD Bank West. There, he was responsible for finance, the digital transformation of the bank and ensuring the bank's regulatory requirements were met. As the second Managing Director at Wiwin, he will now be responsible for Finance, Operations, IT and HR.

"We want to give as many people as possible the chance to get actively involved in the sustainability transition," says Theis. Founded in 2016, the crowdinvesting platform provides capital in the areas of renewable energy, energy-efficient real estate and sustainable start-ups and SMEs. In 2022, the platform's investment volume amounted to around 29 million euros. "Crowdinvesting is an important lever, especially in the field of renewable energies, so that as many exciting projects as possible can be implemented directly as quickly as possible," says Theis.
