According to media reports, the American private equity investor is buying the Berlin-based car and fleet management start-up.
The US private equity investor Battery Ventures is buying the Berlin-based start-up Vimcar. According to information from deutsche-startups.de this costs the investor 135 million euros. Prior to Vimcar, Battery Ventures had already invested twice in German companies. In Easy Software from Essen, the investor invested in software for document and data archiving and in Winworker from Goch in a software solution for tradespeople.
With Vimcar, Battery Ventures is now acquiring a connected car and fleet management company. Founded in 2013 by Andreas Schneider, Christian Siewek and Lukas Weber, the idea is to connect vehicles across manufacturers. The aim is to digitize company cars and fleets.
With this idea, the start-up has raised around 18 million euros from investors such as Acton Capital, Coparion and Atlantic Labs in recent years. In the last financing round in 2019, the company was valued at 45 million euros.
