Boomerang closes pre-seed round with EUR 1.1 million

Boomerang secures EUR 1.1 million in pre-seed financing for reusable packaging. Plans are in place to strengthen IT and sales. The aim is to expand the product range and expand into Europe.

Boomerang secures EUR 1.1 million in pre-seed financing for reusable packaging. Plans are in place to strengthen IT and sales. The aim is to expand the product range and expand into Europe.

The founders of Boomerang, Marc Engelmann, Christian Putz and Katharina Kreutzer, have successfully completed a pre-seed financing in the amount of EUR 1.1 million. This step marks the company's second capital increase. The fresh capital will mainly be invested in strengthening the IT and sales areas in order to better establish reusable packaging on the market.

Both existing investors and three new investors have invested in Boomerang's business model and continue to support the company with their networks. Marc Engelmann, CEO of Boomerang, is delighted with the increased interest, especially in view of the current economic challenges for start-ups. He points out that a further closing is planned to involve even more partners.

Boomerang has made significant progress since its foundation in 2022. The team has grown to around 15 employees and has successfully carried out a pilot test with around 15 online stores. Thousands of packages are already in use and four flexible packaging options have been added to the product range. Katharina Kreutzer, CPO of Boomerang, emphasizes the continuous development of the product range.

Our product range is constantly being expanded. New is the Boomerang BOX for fragile items, which is traceable via the mail stream and for which a patent application has been filed.

Boomerang focuses on reusable shipping packaging for online retail to replace disposable packaging. The system is based on an intelligent deposit model and return logistics, which enables up to 50-fold reuse. This approach supports online stores in strengthening their sustainability efforts, saving costs and promoting the circular economy to reduce CO2 emissions.

In the coming years, Boomerang aims to be recognized as a leading brand for reusable packaging and to expand its presence to other European countries. The strong potential of the concept and the team is reflected in the broad media interest in recent months. Over 40 press and media reports, including a feature on Pro7 Galileo and a report on ZDF Plan b, illustrate the growing interest in Boomerang.
