Cinector raises 2.5 million euros

The start-up develops virtual communication spaces for online meetings. Now a fund from the Free State of Saxony is getting on board.
The Saxon start-up Cinector raises 2.5 million euros in its seed financing round. "Bringing the power of a Hollywood studio to the office" - that is the start-up's vision. The seed round is being led by the Leipzig-based Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS).
The founders originally advised a special effects team for a Hollywood production. Thomas Schmieder, Tobias Tauscher and Enrico Pisko then transferred their knowledge from the film industry to corporate communications and founded Cinector in 2015. The start-up aims to enable high-quality virtual presentations. These consist of virtual communication rooms that are designed to make presentations as tangible as a face-to-face meeting. The creation of virtual showrooms and video presentations should be "as easy as a PowerPoint presentation".
Cinector intends to use the newly acquired capital to further develop its product and invest in new markets. The money will also flow into its research and development department "Cinector Labs", which will integrate AI capabilities into the product.
