The Hamburg-based company offers a marketplace for plastics, and now Cirplus has once again convinced investors. The money also comes from abroad.

The start-up Cirplus, founded in 2018, has completed a seed financing round and raised 3.3 million euros. Investors are the accelerator program Entrepreneur First from London, once again the Karlsruhe-based investor First Momentum Ventures and the venture capitalist Nucleus Capital, which focuses on sustainable investments. VNV & Pale Blue Dot from Sweden and MyClimateJourney from North America are also involved.

Cirplus intends to use the money to expand the team and further develop its product. The start-up, founded by Christian Schiller and Volkan Bilici, has established a digital marketplace for recycled plastic that recyclers, disposal companies and plastic processing companies can use to find each other.

"My team and I are very grateful that such experienced investors and entrepreneurs are supporting us in our mission to turn plastic waste into a genuine circular economy," says Schiller. He continues: "The road is still long and difficult, but we are now well equipped."

Based in Hamburg, Cirplus currently has 18 employees and a good 1,000 users worldwide.
