Constellr closes financing round

The space start-up raises ten million euros from prominent investors. Now it wants to further develop its plant monitoring technology.
The Freiburg-based satellite start-up Constellr has raised ten million euros in a financing round. This was led by venture capitalists Lakestar and Vsquare Ventures. FTTF, IQT, Amathaon Capital, Natural Ventures, EIT Food, OHB Venture Capital, Next Humanity and Seraphim are also participating.
Constellr is a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Society for Applied Research. The start-up wants to use satellites to monitor the water content of crops and agricultural land and thus identify at an early stage where there is an increased need for water.
Constellr CEO Max Gulde expressed his satisfaction with the successful financing round. "Together, we have just ignited the second stage on the way to a global water monitoring system," said the co-founder of the start-up.
