Core Sensing wins start-up prize

A particularly innovative product from a start-up is honored at the Hannover Messe. This year, the prize goes to the Darmstadt-based company Core Sensing.
Hannover Messe has presented the Hermes Start-up Award for the second time. The 2021 winner is the Corein project from Darmstadt-based start-up Core Sensing. The Corein is a sensor package that can be installed on any metallic component and collects data as a torque and force sensor. Continuous monitoring can therefore help to prevent failures or minimize maintenance costs.
"I am particularly pleased to award core sensing to a spin-off that uses its solutions to support companies in exploiting the diverse potential of digitalization more comprehensively," says Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and Chairman of the jury.
Founded in 2019, the start-up developed the Corein 2019 sensor package. In 2020, it successfully completed its first financing round and launched further products. The award is currently presented annually to a technologically innovative product from a company that is no more than five years old.
