Coyo buys Jubiwee

Both companies focus on internal communication within the company. Now the German company is taking over its French competitor.

The Hamburg-based start-up Coyo is expanding and acquiring the French start-up Jubiwee. This makes Paris the French headquarters of Coyo. "I am extremely happy about the merger," says Coyo founder Jan Marius Marquardt. "Apart from innovative technology, there is no better way to start building a site in France than to join forces with a French team that is already successful and shares our values."

Coyo offers software for employee communication, which the start-up tested for the first time during the coronavirus pandemic. According to Marquardt's statement to Wirtschaftswoche, 80 percent of the companies testing the software have stayed. The 400 customers include Eon, Deutsche Bahn and Rittersport. Founded in 2010, the start-up Coyo was self-financed for ten years. At the end of 2020, the US investment firm Marlin Equity Partners acquired a majority stake.

As part of the merger, Jubiwee's employees will be taken on and founder Thibaud Martin will join Coyo's management team: "The merger with COYO is the best way to create a more comprehensive offering and grow faster in these crucial times," says Martin. Jubiwee operates a digital platform for employee feedback. In the long term, Coyo wants to integrate Jubiwee's offering into its own software.
