Daimler Truck invests in Apex.AI

The start-up develops software for mobility and autonomous applications. Daimler wants to use it to enable the truck of the future.
Daimler Trucks acquires a strategic minority stake in the start-up Apex.AI. The company, based in Munich and California, develops software solutions for the automotive industry, including the Apex.OS operating system. This system is designed to make programming a vehicle or robot "almost as easy as programming a phone". The security of the operating system has already been certified by TÜV Nord.
"Our powerful solutions are deliberately designed for simplicity. This is the approach that is changing the way companies in a wide range of industries develop their future vehicle technologies," says Jan Becker, co-founder and CEO of Apex.AI. Becker founded the start-up together with Dejan Pangercic in 2017. In addition to the automotive industry, the software on offer is also intended for use in intelligent machines in agriculture, mining and the IoT sector. The company has already convinced several well-known investors such as Continental, Airbus and Toyota.
