Third round of the "New Roots" funding program begins

Mothers from Munich and the surrounding area can apply for the "New Roots" start-up program until 14 August.

For the third time in a row, mothers can apply for the "New Roots" program from Godaddy and Impact Hub Munich. We are looking for mothers who have a start-up idea or are already self-employed. "New Roots" supports the women in various workshops on brainstorming, financial planning and developing a website. According to a study by the German Start-up Monitor, only just under 16% of all start-ups in Germany are founded by women. A third of all women are self-employed, according to the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). According to Unternehmer.de, structural inequality and a lack of funding are among the challenges that make it difficult for women to start a business.

Former participants such as Anna Diermeier show that the program can be successful. She took part in the program last year and founded the zero-waste store and Design Studio Zurück. According to her, the workshops have already brought her initial success: "I acquired my first customer during the program, was able to test my offer structure directly and implemented a really cool project."

Over a six-month period, the women are explained step by step how to become self-employed. Applicants should plan one to two days a week for the workshops and mentoring.

Alexandra Anderson from Godaddy and co-supervisor of the program is proud of the cooperation and optimistic about the program: "The third round of the "New Roots" program provides mothers with crucial access to the right tools, resources and networks they need to scale their business and achieve more."
