Dropfriends receives six-figure sum

The start-up was able to convince six other business angels in addition to NRW Bank.

The Cologne-based software company Dropfriends has received mid-six-figure pre-seed financing for the expansion and scaling of its platform for local parcel acceptance communities. This was announced by co-founder and CEO Martin Peters at the Last Mile City Logistics trade fair in Berlin. The founding team convinced investors Daniel Matuschewsky, Daniel Senf, Henry Flack, Markus Richter, Rainer Witt and Randolf Schürmann. NRW Bank also participated in the financing round.

Yasmin Werner, Osamah Aldoaiss and Martin Peters founded Dropfriends at the end of 2019. With the help of the solution provided by Dropfriends, anyone should be able to set up or access their own parcel store within seconds, regardless of the parcel delivery service.

Dropfriends wants to turn everyone into a parcel retailer. These can then be used via a smartphone app, but also directly in partner systems for receiving consignments or in the ordering system of online stores. This should make it much easier for users to receive the parcels they have ordered. "In two and a half months, we were able to generate more than 1,400 drop points. In Cologne and Hamburg, even more than there are parcel lockers there," says Martin Peters.
