ECovery and Techniker Krankenkasse expand cooperation

ECovery provides an individual training program for knee, hip and back problems. Techniker Krankenkasse covers the costs for its policyholders.

Leipzig-based health start-up ECovery and Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) have been working together on the treatment of knee complaints since the beginning of this year. The two companies have now decided to expand their collaboration. In future, TK will also cover the costs of treatment for hip and back complaints using ECovery's digital physiotherapy app.

Insured persons can start treatment immediately without having to wait for an appointment at a physiotherapy practice. To do this, they first visit the Techniker Krankenkasse website and are then redirected to ECovery. After registering and completing a self-assessment, the individual training program starts with 12 to 24 weeks of therapy. ECovery provides video instructions and knowledge. The start-up's services are integrated into the health insurance company's website.

"We are seeing a high level of acceptance of digital services among our policyholders, especially when it comes to innovative training programs," says Thomas Heilmann, Head of Care Management Services at Techniker Krankenkasse. "That's why we are naturally very happy to comply with our policyholders' wishes and are expanding our successful collaboration with eCovery."
