According to a media report, the solar start-up is aiming to go public. The driving force behind this is said to be Alexander Samwer.

Enpal CEO Mario Kohle is probably not short of great comparisons. According to a report in Manager Magazin he describes the solar system manufacturer as a "German Tesla without production" and apparently has big plans. What was previously considered a vague vision of the future could soon become reality: Enpal is to take the plunge onto the trading floor.

According to Manager Magazin, Enpal investor Alexander Samwer, who is involved with his Picus Capital fund, wants to take the company public. The first interested parties could currently invest in the start-up in a pre-IPO round, the business magazine reports, citing documents among other things. According to these documents, the company aims to generate sales of around 2.5 billion euros by 2024 and become the largest platform for renewable energies in the world in the long term.

When asked, however, Enpal founder Mario Kohle sounds somewhat more reserved: "An IPO is a possible step on our growth path. That's why we are of course taking the necessary precautions to be ready," he says. "But no concrete decisions have been made yet. Above all, it is important to us that Enpal grows in the very long term so that we can supply more and more people with green energy."

The start-up specializes in photovoltaic modules, the production of which is currently being financed via loans and which should generate long-term profits for the company by renting them out to private individuals. Prominent investors have invested, including founder Lukasz Gadowski, actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Zalando bosses Robert Gentz, David Schneider and Rubin Ritter via an investment vehicle.
