The fund has a volume of EUR 1.1 billion and is primarily aimed at young start-ups.

With EQT Ventures III, the Swedish private equity company is launching what it claims to be Europe's largest venture capital fund for early-stage tech start-ups. The volume of the fund amounts to EUR 1.1 billion. The fund is therefore 200 million euros larger than planned in the 2021 financial report. European and North American early-stage technology start-ups can receive between one and 50 million euros from the fund, in which numerous investors were involved.

EQT closed the first fund in the series in 2016 with a volume of EUR 566 million. The second followed at the end of 2019 with a total of EUR 660 million. Both funds are fully invested, as start-up scene writes.

The current closing is already the second in a short space of time. Two months ago, the company launched a fund worth two billion euros for late-stage start-ups. "This is a real vote of confidence in EQT's active investment approach," says Head of Private Capital and Deputy Managing Partner Per Franzén. "We are now further driving the collaboration between EQT Private Capital and our other funds."
