Gilde Healthcare announces EUR 600 million venture & growth fund

International investors provide €600 million for Gilde Healthcare Venture&Growth VI. Within three years, GH has raised more than €1.5 billion in capital.

Dutch company Gilde Healthcare today announced the launch of its new Venture&Growth Fund VI with a volume of €600 million. The fund will invest in fast-growing healthcare innovations focused on improving healthcare delivery at lower costs. Gilde Healthcare will focus on companies in Europe and North America that are active in digital health, medical technology and therapeutics. The fund is backed by international investors including corporates, banks, pension funds, insurance companies, fund of funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and family offices.

Healthcare expenditure in the western world is constantly rising, especially in the USA, where it already accounts for more than 20% of gross national product. To address this, the company has established the Impact Council, chaired by the former Executive Director of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The Impact Council will support Gilde Healthcare in identifying and supporting companies that develop innovative solutions for more effective and cost-efficient healthcare.

Venture&Growth Fund VI will invest between 10 and 60 million euros in each portfolio company. Over the past three years, together with the last Venture&Growth Fund V from 2020 and Gilde Healthcare Private Equity IV from 2022, the company has raised a total of 1.5 billion euros in capital.
