Gilde Healthcare announces EUR 600 million venture & growth fund

International investors provide €600 million for Gilde Healthcare Venture&Growth VI. Within three years, GH has raised more than €1.5 billion in capital.

Netherlands-based Gilde Healthcare today announced the launch of its new €600 million Venture&Growth Fund VI. The fund will invest in fast-growing healthcare innovations focused on improving healthcare at lower cost. Gilde Healthcare's primary focus is on companies in Europe and North America operating in the digital health, medical technology and therapeutics sectors. The fund is backed by international investors including corporations, banks, pension funds, insurance companies, funds of funds and sovereign wealth funds, foundations and family offices.

Healthcare spending in the Western world is rising steadily, especially in the US, where it already accounts for more than 20% of gross national product. To address this, the company has created the Impact Council, chaired by the former Executive Director of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The Impact Council is designed to help Gilde Healthcare identify and support companies that are developing innovative solutions for more effective and cost-efficient healthcare.

Venture&Growth Fund VI will invest between €10 million and €60 million in each portfolio company. Over the past three years, the company has raised a total of €1.5 billion in capital, along with the last Venture&Growth Fund V in 2020 and Gilde Healthcare Private Equity IV in 2022.
