Hublo expands into Germany

The French healthtech raises 22 million euros. Now the start-up is moving to other European countries.
French healthcare start-up Hublo raises a total of 22 million euros in its Series A and now wants to expand in Europe. The start-up, which emerged from the merger of Whoog and medGo in 2020, has four countries on its agenda by 2023. The founding team plans to hire 200 new employees. In Germany, the start-up has not moved to Berlin or Munich, but to Cologne.
The start-up aims to simplify the everyday lives of both specialist and nursing staff. The concept is digital personnel management, for example to better plan existing resources and hire new people more quickly. The start-up aims to counter the shortage of nursing staff that has been evident in Germany for several years and is likely to remain a problem in the future. Hublo can already count 2,800 hospitals, clinics and care facilities as customers.
According to the start-up, the financing round that has now been completed is one of the largest in the French start-up scene. Money came from Revaia (formerly Gaia Capital Partners) and Acton Capital, a Munich-based venture capitalist, among others. Sebastian Wossagk, Managing Partner at Acton Capital, says: "There will be a shortage of 500,000 nursing staff in Germany by 2035. The demand for care services already exceeds the supply of workers. With Hublo's digital solution, they can now optimally manage their most important resource - qualified nursing staff - and at the same time sustainably improve their relationship with their employees."
