Now comes the fund just for female founders

Entrepreneur and influencer Tijen Onaran wants to raise at least 50 million euros for her new venture capital fund.
Tijen Onaran, CEO of Global Digital Women, wants to raise at least 50 million euros to set up a fund for female founders. "There are still very few female founders in Germany," Onaran tells Manager Magazine. "This is not because women have fewer ideas or are less creative. It's just that they find it harder to get capital." Accordingly, women are more often dependent on self-financing, which is why start-ups find it more difficult to grow. Her own company would have had to manage without investors.
In the next step, the influencer wants to approach corporations, SMEs and family businesses in order to raise the necessary capital. She hopes to raise 50 to 100 million euros from investors to support start-ups run by women.
In 2014, Onaran founded Global Digital Women, a consultancy firm for diversity issues. She is also a speaker, author and moderator.
