Now comes the fund only for female founders

Entrepreneur and influencer Tijen Onaran wants to raise at least €50 million for her new venture capital fund.

At least €50 million is what Tijen Onaran, CEO of Global Digital Women, wants to raise to build a fund for female founders. "There are still very few female founders in Germany," Onaran tells Manager Magazin

. "This is not because women have fewer ideas or are less creative. It's that they have a harder time getting capital." Accordingly, women are more often dependent on self-financing, which is why start-ups have a harder time growing, she said. Her own company would have had to get by without investors.

In the next step, the influencer wants to approach corporations, medium-sized companies and family businesses to collect the necessary capital. She hopes to raise 50 to 100 million euros from donors to support start-ups by women.

In 2014, Onaran founded Global Digital Women, a diversity consulting firm. She is also a speaker, author and facilitator.
