Curious personnel at N26

The Berlin publisher Holger Friedrich acts as an authorized representative of N26 Bank. The company is not commenting on the background.

There is a curious personnel matter at N26 Bank, the bafin-supervised subsidiary of N26: as Finanz-Szene reports with reference to the commercial register, Holger Friedrich has been employed there as a manager for several weeks - including procuration, i.e. commercial power of attorney.

Friedrich came to prominence in 2019 when he took over Berliner Zeitung together with his wife Silke. Shortly afterwards, Friedrich's Stasi past came to light, and there were also repeated controversies about articles in the local newspaper. The publisher had previously managed the technology consultancy Core.

The company did not want to comment further to Finanz-Szene on how Friedrich came to N26. According to Finanz-Szene, Neobank has been communicating only sparingly with the public for months.
