Curious personnel at N26

Berlin publisher Holger Friedrich acts as authorized representative of N26 Bank. The company does not comment on the background.

At N26 Bank, the bafin-supervised subsidiary of N26, there is a curious personnel issue: as Financial scene with reference to the commercial register, Holger Friedrich has been employed there as a manager for a few weeks - including procuration, i.e. power of attorney under commercial law.

Friedrich came to prominence in 2019 when he and his wife Silke took over the Berliner Zeitung newspaper. Shortly thereafter, Friedrich's Stasi past came to light, and there were also repeated controversies about articles in the local newspaper. The publisher had already previously headed the technology consultancy Core.

The company did not want to comment further to Finanz-Szene on how Friedrich came to N26. Basically, Finanz-Szene said, Neobank has been communicating sparsely with the public for months.
