The Stuttgart-based software-as-a-service start-up Makersite has completed its Series A round.

Makersite convinced various investors in its Series A round and raised a total of 18 million euros. Investors include the venture capital arm of Hitachi, Translink Capital and the impact investment company Planet A. Founded in 2018 by Neil D'Souza, the Stuttgart-based company intends to use the new capital to further develop its own AI-supported cloud platform and improve scaling.

Makersite offers a data service for manufacturing companies that enables them to make their supply chains more efficient. According to D'Souza's start-up, it is a leader in the field of supply chain transformation and the automation of life cycle assessments and Scope 3 reports. Makersite AI creates digital twins of processes and products within a supply chain and compares them with material and supply chain databases.

This concept convinced Hitachi Ventures partner Tobias Jahn: "By integrating data into product development and supply chains, Makersite offers everything that is necessary for sustainable product design."
