The Commerzbank subsidiary is participating in a EUR 3 million financing round to drive forward the heating transition in Germany. Vamo focuses on innovative heat pump technology and green energy use to reduce operating costs
Frankfurt - Neosfer, the early-stage investment company of Commerzbank, has participated in a €3 million financing round for the up-and-coming start-up Vamo. This round is also supported by Realyze Ventures from Cologne, Caesar Ventures from Munich and renowned angel investors such as Hanno Heintzenberg, founder of McMakler and MAYD, Valentin Sawadski, founder of Tado, and Max Schroeren, founder of Enter.
Vamo, founded by Laurenz Ohlig, Falk Hantl and Dr. Jan Ossenbrink, has a clear mission: to accelerate the heating transition in Germany by promoting heat pump technologies. This proven technology has the potential to lead the building sector towards decarbonization. However, Vamo sees a challenge in the speed at which heat pumps are being installed in German buildings.
Vamo fits well with our strategic focus and could help Commerzbank to decarbonize its building finance loan portfolio.

The startup not only offers heat pumps for end customers, but also a comprehensive subscription for air-to-water heat pumps that includes installation and maintenance. Particularly noteworthy is Vamo's commitment to its own installation teams, which are trained in-house. In addition, the company is working on a software solution for the intelligent control of heating systems to optimize the use of green electricity from renewable sources such as solar and wind and to reduce operating costs.
Vilor GmbH, which presents itself under the Vamo brand, is a specialist company for heat pumps in Germany. The company is active in the areas of sales, planning, financing, installation and operation of air-to-water heat pumps.
