New funding for criminal offenders

The start-up has developed an intelligent training band that, in combination with an app, is designed to improve the quality of training. Now investors are getting on board.

Straffr raises new capital in its Pre-Series A round. Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen is increasing its initial investment. Investoren-Club Nordhessen and various business angels have also participated in the round. The exact amount of the current financing is not known.

"This step brings us one step closer to our vision of improving people's lives through personalized training systems," says Stefan Weiß, co-founder and CEO of Straffr. He founded the start-up in 2019 together with Torben Hellmuth and Hanno Storz. The founders have developed a two-meter-long fitness band that has an intelligent measurement sensor system that transmits its data to an app. The start-up's platform provides users with more than 80 exercises and workouts that can be performed with the band. The app measures the strength exerted, the quality of movement, the number of repetitions and the speed.

The company intends to use the new funding to invest in marketing measures and more staff. The money will also be used to drive forward product development and launch the product on the market.
