The start-up wants to simplify the management of wind and solar plants with its software. Now investors are getting on board.

The start-up Node.energy raises seven million euros in a Series A financing round. The round is led by Cologne-based VC Bitstone Capital. In addition, 10x Founders and the impact investor Bonventure are also participating. Helen Ventures from Finland is also investing in the Frankfurt start-up.

Node.energy is developing software designed to simplify the management of wind and solar plants. Plant operators can use the software to automatically create invoices, tax forms and official reports. According to the company, the software is already being used by around 10,000 wind and solar power plants. Matthias Karger and Lars Rinn founded the start-up in 2016 and now employ 50 people.

"The future energy supply will be based on millions of renewable energy systems and every large building will also be a power plant," says Karger. The new capital will be used to further develop the software so that it can be used to implement new business models such as direct solar power supply and self-sufficiency.
