The start-up's shopping assistant enables customers to self-checkout in retail stores. The start-up has now convinced a well-known investor.

How EU Start-ups reports, the Berlin-based start-up Nomitri has received 2.5 million euros. Foodlabs led the financing round, with previously invested business angels and family offices also participating.

Trinh Le-Fiedler, Max Fiedler and Moritz August founded the start-up last year. Nomitri has developed a shopping assistant for smartphones. Using a holder, customers of retail companies attach their own smartphone to their shopping cart and use it to scan their purchase. The technology is based on artificial intelligence and can be integrated into the retailer's app. The app enables companies to learn more about their customers' shopping behavior. At the same time, their privacy is to be protected.

Nomitri now wants to use the capital to expand its business network and build up the development team. The technology is currently still being tested in the Edeka Lüning supermarket chain.
