Nuventura secures €25 million in Series A financing

Nuventura receives 25 million euros in Series A financing for SF6-free switchgear. The company is thus expanding its sustainable technology for the energy industry.

Berlin - The Berlin-based company Nuventura, which specializes in gas-insulated medium-voltage switchgear (GIS) without the use of sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), has successfully closed a Series A investment round worth 25 million euros. Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis Investment Managers focused on sustainable investments, led this round. Existing investors such as IBB Ventures, ADB Ventures, Cycle Group, Future Energy Ventures and DOEN Participaties also participated, together with Forward.one and EIC Fund. In total, Nuventura's capital raise amounts to more than 35 million euros.

The funds from this investment round will be used to expand Nuventura's product portfolio and global production capacity. Nuventura's main goal is to help the energy industry transition to environmentally friendly technologies without the use of SF6, an extremely harmful greenhouse gas that is 25,200 times more potent than CO2.

Nuventura's patented nu1 gas-insulated switchgear uses climate-friendly dry air insulation instead and offers similar benefits to SF6-based GIS, including additional safety and asset protection features. This technology is gaining momentum as awareness of the negative environmental impact of SF6 grows and regulators take action to reduce its use.
