Omio cooperates with Uber

The partnership means that Uber customers can now also book train and bus journeys via their app.
The Berlin-based travel platform Omio has announced its strategic partnership with the mobility platform Uber. The cooperation means that Uber now has Omio's technology at its disposal. This means that users can book international and national train, rail and bus connections via the Uber app. Uber will have access to Omio's entire offering, which it claims consists of more than 1,000 transportation providers in 37 countries worldwide.
"I am very excited to enter into this partnership with Uber and share our extensive overland travel offering with Uber customers," says Omio founder Naren Shaam. The announcement of the partnership follows Omio's recent funding round, in which the company raised 80 million US dollars.
Through acquisitions and strategic partnerships, the start-up aims to become the leading platform for overland travel. The travel company started in 2013 under the name Go Euro. It has been called Omio since 2019. According to its own information, the start-up employs more than 300 people from 50 different countries in offices in Berlin, Prague, Melbourne and London.
