Through the partnership, Uber customers can now book train and bus travel through their app.

Berlin-based travel platform Omio has announced its strategic partnership with mobility platform Uber. Through the cooperation, Uber now has Omio's technology at its disposal. As a result, users will be able to book international and domestic train, rail and bus services via the Uber app. Uber will have access to Omio's entire offering, which it says consists of more than 1,000 transportation providers in 37 countries worldwide.

"I am very excited to enter into this partnership with Uber and share our extensive land travel offering with Uber customers," said Omio founder Naren Shaam. The partnership announcement follows Omio's recent funding round, in which the company raised $80 million.

Through acquisitions and strategic partnerships, the startup aims to become the leading platform for overland travel. The travel company launched in 2013 under the name Go Euro. Since 2019, it has been called Omio. The startup says it employs more than 300 people from 50 different countries in offices in Berlin, Prague, Melbourne and London.
