Sento.io gets two million euros

The investors include three of Europe's best-known founders: they all launched Decacorns today.

The Munich-based start-up Sento.io was able to expand its pre-seed financing round and land a total of two million euros. Investor Picus Capital is leading the round. Numerous new investors have also joined, including founders of the three Decacorns Celonis, Checkout.com and Zalando as well as Flatiron Health, Forto and GoCardless. The Managing Partner of venture capital and private equity firm DST Global, Tom Stafford, has also joined the company.

Sento.io offers software solutions for the automated, digital exchange of documents such as orders, delivery bills and invoices. So far, all of this has mainly related to the relationship between retailers and their suppliers. Big names such as Edeka, Rewe and DM are already said to be involved. The company intends to invest the capital primarily in the further development of the product and the expansion of the team. In addition to the already implemented connections to food retailers and suppliers, further use cases are to be added next.

"Our vision is to create a global infrastructure to bring B2B data exchange into the 21st century," says co-founder and CEO Felix Krauth. The whole thing should be cloud- and API-based. Oliver Heinrich, Partner at investor Picus Capital, believes in the company's potential: Within a very short space of time, the company has created "a plug-and-play platform that can already be used to connect a large part of the German food trade via API."
