Smart Infrastructure Hub Leipzig receives 1.9 million euros

The Saxon Ministry of Economic Affairs is using the funding to drive forward the development of digital innovations and solutions.
The Saxon Ministry of Economic Affairs is funding the Smart Infrastructure Hub (SIH) Leipzig with 1.9 million euros from the cluster funding program. The focus of the funding is on the further development of the hub as well as networking and representation of interests at European level. The funding period is five years.
Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Dulig, wants to use the funding to promote digital innovations and solutions. Big data, artificial intelligence and 3D printing in particular have great potential. "We want and need to use these technologies wisely - because they will shape our lives, influence our work, mobility and our coexistence in the coming years," said Dulig. Digital hubs are needed to ensure that these technologies are developed quickly.
The SIH is developing a digital ecosystem for the energy, smart city and health sectors. The aim of the hub is to network established companies, start-ups and research and to promote future-oriented industries and technologies.
